Easter Seals Arkansas helps adults with disabilities gain greater independence through vocational and independent living programs. They include:
Job Training and Placement - Enables adults with disabilities to be placed on job sites and trained with the aid of a job coach.
Home and Community Services - Funded by Medicaid Waiver, this service provides individualized care for adults with disabilities and is designed to help them live on their own, with family or friends.
Butler Adult Living Center - A home-like environment that promotes independence for 10 adults with 24-hour supervision and a highly structured atmosphere.
Armistead Village Apartments - an 17-unit HUD-funded apartment complex for adults with disabilities.
Wilson Court and Wilson Court II Apartments - two 14-unit HUD-funded apartment complexes for adults with disabilities. |
Contracts with Arkansas Bolt and other businesses allow adults to work at the vocational center.
For these residents of Armistead Village, this represents their first time living on their own.
